Welcome to our Youth Service web site. Here you will find information
about all of our services available to young people across the county.
This is an exciting time for Youth Work in Powys following the
launch in Wales of “Extending Entitlement”, the development of Young
People’s Partnerships and the confirmation of a statutory basis
for the Youth Service.
Since 1999 and the introduction of the Powys youth service strategy,
“Youth Work for the 21st Century” we have been restructuring the
service, recruiting and training new staff, developing our partnerships
with the voluntary sector, updating our data collection systems
and working to establish the youth service in Powys as a well respected,
high quality and professional support service for young people.
We now have a skilled and committed team of full and part-time
staff who are well equipped to respond to the new government agenda
and support young people in accessing their "10 Entitlements".

Youth Workers work with young people
to enable them to understand and act upon their rights and
responsibilities. Working together, they present a positive
image of young people to others through a process that encourages
self determination, in a manner which is challenging and fun.
The relationships between youth workers and young
people is based on trust, honesty and quality. |
