| School
Closures due to bad weather:
1. Schools are to contact the Powys
Careline (tel. 01597 825275) up until 8.30a.m. to inform
officers that their school will be closing (you do not need to
call any other number to contact the Authority just the Careline)
2. To ensure that the schools that are closing
are named at the 8 am. news bulletin you must have called the
Powys Careline by 7.45 a.m. at which time the list will be sent
to the media (the list will be sent to 96.4 FM The Wave,
Swansea Sound, Valleys Radio, Classic Hits, Wyvern FM, Sunshine
855, BBC Hereford and Worcester, Beacon FM, Classic Gold, BBC
Radio Shropshire, Radio Maldwyn, Radio Ceredigion, BBC Radio Wales/Radio
Cymru, Red Dragon Radio)
3. After 8.30 a.m. schools are to
contact the Communications Unit (01597 826377). Officers
from the Unit will continue to update the media at regular intervals
